Medical and Osteopathic physicians are trained to rely heavily on traditional treatments such as medications and surgery.  Osteopathic physicians are also trained in manipulative therapy.  There are other treatment methods that do not rely so much on medications.  These methods do not receive as much attention since drug companies and drug company research monies are not involved.  These methods are also newer, more progressive, and often not covered by insurance companies.  Integrative medicine is the use of both the traditional medications and surgeries and these newer treatments.  These treatments are not for everyone and are optional when offered.

These newer treatments include:

  • Allergy treatments
  • Heavy metal chelation therapy
  • Digestive enzymes and probiotics
  • Hormone replacement therapy
  • Nutrition IVs
  • Nutritional supplements
