Men’s Health Checklist

Screening tests are used to check for problems before symptoms appear. These recommended screening guidelines are for the healthy individual. Recommendations may change for those at high risk or specific medical conditions.

What is an annual wellness visit?

Most visits are disease or problem oriented meaning that the doctor is focused on the specific problem or body system. Annual wellness visits focus on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle. Time is spent reviewing your past personal and family medical history, looking at your current risk of developing future health issues, and discussing current and future health care needs. Lab work and other testing may be ordered based on this discussion. Annual wellness visits are recommended for everyone and should be done at a separate visit from problem/disease oriented visits. Insurance coverage varies by plan. Please check with your carrier to determine your annual wellness coverage.
